The risks of giving a blowjob without a condom

Giving a blowjob without a condom is – just like ‘the act’ itself – not without risks. If you give someone a blowjob without a condom, you can get an STD (Sexual Transmitted Disease). Especially if you have changing sex partners, you have an increased risk of Chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis. OneDayClinic tells you everything about the risks of giving a blowjob (or receiving a blow-job) without a condom.

Can you get an STD by giving or receiving a blowjob without a condom?

When you give a blowjob to someone who has an STD, you are at risk of becoming infected yourself. This also applies to the opposite situation: you can become infected if you receive a blowjob by someone who has an STD. If you are not sure whether your sex partner has an STD, then it is advisable to always use a condom.

Which STDs can you get by giving of receiving a blowjob without a condom?

When you give someone a blowjob without a condom or you receive a blowjob without a condom you are at risk for a couple STDs:

  • By giving or receiving a blowjob without a condom your partner can get Chlamydia. Chlamydia can settle in the throat and on the penis. The chance of transferring this STD to someone else is high.
  • The same applies to gonorrhoea as to Chlamydia. The chance of infection is high and gonorrhoea can also manifest in both the throat and on the penis.
  • The risk of syphilis is also big if you give or receive a blowjob. You can get syphilis both in your throat and on your penis.
  • Hepatitis B. The risk of hepatitis B is not very big when you give someone a blowjob without a condom. However, there are a number of factors that increase the risk: for example, the risk is higher if you get pre-ejaculate or sperm in your mouth or by swallowing it. Furthermore, if you have (little) wounds or one of the above-mentioned STDs in or on your mouth, the hepatitis virus can be transmitted more easily.
  • The same ‘rules’ apply to HIV. The risk of this STD is not very big in itself, but beware of sperm and (little) wounds.
