How does an STI test work?

1 - Make an appointment

Make an appointment online safely and anonymously.

2 - Visit clinic

The examination is carried out at a clinic or test point.

3 - Check the results

Enter your personal code on the website and see the results.

First there is a conversation with the doctor to determine which STI test should be taken. This depends on the risk you have run, how and with whom you have had unprotected sex contact (with a woman, a man or both).

The STIs gonorrhoea chlamydia, trichomonas or mycoplasma are diagnosed in men by means of a urine test. For women, this is done with a swab that you can use yourself to remove moisture from the vagina. You can also choose to have our doctor do this. The results are often known within 1 working day, and a maximum of 2 working days. STI testing for syphilis, HIV and hepatitis is carried out via blood tests.

With us you can almost always be helped on the same day. You will often receive the results within 1 working day and a maximum of 2 working days. You can view the results online via our test results portal. Click here to view your test results directly.
