Should I take an STI test?
If you have had unprotected sex, it is wise to get an STI test. Complaints or not, it is advisable to get tested just to be sure. At OneDayClinic Amsterdam you can do an anonymous test and you will be helped quickly. The result also follows quickly, so this reduces the chance of infecting others. We recommend an STI test in various situations. For example, unsafe sex, complaints such as vesicles, warts or abnormal discharge. How does an STI test work at our clinic?
Often you can visit our clinic within one day if you have made an appointment. The appointment always starts with a conversation with the doctor. In this conversation we will determine which STI test suits your situation. This depends on various factors, such as the number of bed partners, the symptoms and with whom (husband, wife or both).
The STIs chlamydia, gonorrhoea, trichomonas and mycoplasma are diagnosed in men by means of a urine test. In women, a swab is taken. Whether the woman does this herself or rather leaves it to the doctor, both are possible. The urine and swab are examined in a certified lab for the presence of Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. The results are usually known within 1 working day.
Blood tests are used to test STIs for syphilis, HIV STIs and hepatitis. The blood is taken to the lab and examined here.

I have an STI, now what?
The results of the STI test will tell you whether or not you need treatment. At OneDayClinic Amsterdam, fortunately, you will already have results within 2 days, depending on the STI test you need.

How does an STD test in Haarlem work?
