Should you become infected with a sexually transmitted disease (STD), chances are it is chlamydia. In fact, chlamydia is the most common STD. Getting chlamydia symptoms as a woman, is not always obvious. In fact, a very high percentage of 70 to 95% of women experience no symptoms. With men, this percentage is around 50%. There, the risk of getting symptoms is a bit higher. For everyone, but especially for women, it is necessary to test for chlamydia after unsafe sex. You can carry it with you without developing any symptoms and because of this you are unknowingly infectious to others.

What are the symptoms of chlamydia for a woman?
With symptoms of chlamydia for a woman, you should act immediately. Especially if you know that you have recently had unsafe sex, there is a good chance that you are infected. For women, the symptoms mainly consist of a burning or painful sensation when urinating and you may get watery discharge. During or after sexual contact, you may experience bleeding. If you do not get tested and you continue to walk around unknowingly with chlamydia, there is a chance that you will develop pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). This is a chronic abdominal pain with fever, and in the process even your peritoneum and other internal organs may be affected.
