HIV STD testing and its consequences
If you have had sexual contact with an HIV-infected person or you have been in contact with infected tissue or blood, you do not necessarily become infected. Nevertheless, testing for HIV STDs can still make sense, to rule out infection. If you test positive with an HIV test, it has quite a few consequences for both your health and your personal life. After all, HIV will never disappear from your body. You must then prepare for a lifetime of treatment. With successful treatment, the virus will be controlled and you may no longer be contagious. Most importantly, HIV no longer has to lead to AIDS.
