Pain during sex

Causes of pain during sex
For women and men, the causes of pain during sex are often different. For men, pain during sex often has a physical cause and men shouldn't walk around with it for too long. For women, pain during sex can have a physical cause, but psychological components can also play a role. Below we go into the different causes in more detail.
Causes of pain during sex in men
A reason for pain during sex in men may be that the foreskin is too narrow. This means that the foreskin can hardly slide over the head of the penis. If you do this, there may be small cracks in the foreskin. These cracks are gonna hurt! If your foreskin is too narrow, you can see your doctor, who can give you a special cream to stretch your foreskin.
In addition to a foreskin that is too narrow, you may also suffer from an excessively short stump. The stump is a small piece of skin that connects the foreskin to the head of the penis. When you pull the foreskin back and your stump is too short, you pull the head of the penis back with you.
In addition, your glans can also get irritated if you masturbate yourself too much or have too much sex, this is because your body is not used to it and the skin becomes squeamish as a result.
So causes of pain during sex in men are:
1. The foreskin is too narrow
2. The toome is too short
3. Irritated glans
4. STD
Causes of pain during sex in women
In women, pain during sex can have a physical cause, but it can also be caused by tension or stress. This is how many women experience a little pain during their first sex. This may be because the vagina is still too dry and because the tension of the first time you have sex makes your pelvic floor tighter than usual, so the opening of your vagina is much tighter, which can cause more pain. Pain during the first time can be prevented by waiting with sex until your vagina is properly moist and trying to relax as much as possible.
When you have a negative experience with sex or the sex often continues to hurt, you can start looking up against the sex. Because you are tense, you unconsciously tighten your pelvic floor muscles. When they are tightened, it is difficult to have sex or it does not work at all. This can put you in a negative spiral. So it's important that you listen to your body carefully.
In addition to an increased tension of your pelvic floor muscles, it may also be that your vagina is not yet moist enough; if you have sex immediately, it can feel rough. So always make sure you take your time and don't go straight to penetration, but calmly wait and feel until you are excited enough.
Waiting for yourself to get excited enough is very important, when you get excited the vagina becomes a bit longer due to the excitement. This prevents the penis from touching the cervix during sex. If the penis does touch the cervix, it can cause discomfort in the lower abdomen.
If you have been sexually active for some time now and you have never had any complaints, but suddenly have pain during the sex, it is possible that something else is going on. An STD can cause women pain during sex and sometimes also some blood loss after sex.
Pain during sex in women is thus caused by
1. The first time
2. increased pelvic floor muscle tension
3. not excited/moisture enough
4. Penis gets too deep
5. STD
Causes of pain during anal sex
The anus doesn't get wet when you get excited, so with anal sex it's important to use enough lubricant before you start. If you don't use it, it can feel rough and damage the anus more easily.
The anus consists of a sphincter muscle that keeps the anus closed. In order to have anal sex, you need to relax this sphincter a little. When you are too tense it is difficult to relax the sphincter and it is painful to have anal sex.
If you've had anal sex before but it's going to hurt all the time, it could be because of an STD. STD's also occur anally.
Causes of pain during anal sex thus come from:
1. not enough lubricant
2. too much tension
3. STD
